Hello, I’m Renee — the artist behind Renee Papery, a one-woman studio creating hand-painted wedding stationery from my London desk for couples around the world.
Born in Hong Kong and raised in the UK, I think my love for storytelling, colour, and layered details has always been shaped by living between cultures, traditions, and places. I’m especially drawn to destination weddings and celebrations that blend personal stories, family heritage, and meaningful details together.
Before starting Renee Papery, I spent over a decade in the corporate world. But somewhere along the way, I realised how deeply I missed creating things by hand — painting, crafting, storytelling, and those little thoughtful details that make people feel special.
Creativity has quietly followed me through every chapter of life. From creating birthday cards for friends and family, to styling little celebrations and thoughtful keepsakes, I’ve always loved turning ordinary moments into something meaningful.
Over the years, I’ve found myself drawn more and more to the slightly imperfect, thoughtful details that make a moment feel personal and real. That feeling shaped my own wedding too — we got married beside the lake in Zurich on a pumpkin farm in October, surrounded by hundreds of different pumpkins and the people we love most. It was joyful, relaxed, a little whimsical, and completely us.
Today, that love lives within every suite I create.
My work is inspired by travel, painterly textures, seasonal tables, old storybooks, nature, beautiful food, flowers spilling across linen, and the imperfect charm of handmade things that feel deeply personal rather than overly polished.
Every Renee Papery suite is completely bespoke and painted by hand, thoughtfully shaped around your story, atmosphere, and the feeling you want your guests to experience from the very first impression onwards.
As a one-woman studio, I take on a limited number of commissions each season so every project can be created slowly, personally, and with care.
